How To Rescue A Dying Lawn
With the lack of rain and extreme heat we've been experiencing in our area lately, it's been a challenge to keep our lawns looking their best! One of the major causes behind most lawn problems is improper watering. An established lawn typically needs between 1 inch and 1.5 inches per week. With the recent drought conditions, you will want to provide your lawn with up to 1.5 inches each week. A low-cost rain gauge will be helpful in determining how much water your lawn is getting. You want to water between 2 and 3 times weekly - early morning, before things heat up or in the evening, once things have cooled down.
