My Tree Has Fallen During A Storm - What Do I Do Now?

- Wait until it is safe to access the situation, being mindful that downed lines might be energized.

- If your powerline is down, call hydro and stay away from it.

- Use your cell phone camera and document any damages to your property.

- Call an ISA Certified Arborist to come and assess/quote your situation. They can give you guidance and many direct bill your provider.

- You only need to call your insurance provider if the tree caused damage to a structure/fence on your property. They typically only cover the cost to cut the tree away from a building/fence and won’t cover clean up cost. If your tree damages your neighbour’s property, it will be up to them to make a claim.
